We understand that life is full of ups and downs and sometimes it can be hard to cope. When you need someone to talk to, Career Counselling can help.

We can help you to achieve positive change in your life and put you back on your path to successful employment.

Your Sureway Allied Health Professional will work with you to establish a plan to manage your barriers and reach your employment goals. We can talk about things like:

  • Feelings of anxiety or depression
  • Coping with grief, trauma or relationship issues
  • Managing stress and sleep
  • Strategies to improve self-confidence
  • Anything preventing you from looking for work or staying in a job

WHAT IS CAREER COUNSELLING?

A confidential counselling service delivered by qualified Allied Health professionals, focused on solution-building for barriers in your life.

WHO IS THIS SERVICE?

Career Counselling is suitable for eligible Sureway jobactive and Disability Employment Services (DES) job seekers who want to overcome barriers holding them back from finding or keeping a job so that they can improve their wellbeing and achieve their career goals.

HOW CAN THIS HELP ME TO FIND AND KEEP A JOB?

Our one-on-one sessions will help you uncover the things that hold you back. Sessions will help you to focus on solution-building for these circumstances.

 

Your sessions will help you to increase the frequency of useful behaviours to improve your life in a positive way. We can also support you to access further supports and services that will increase your chances of success.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM MY PROGRAM?

We understand that everyone is unique. Your personal program will be tailored to your individual goals. The length of your program will be guided by your individual needs.

 

Career Counselling can help you to:

  • Identify areas that are holding you back
  • Achieve positive change in your life
  • Establish a plan to reach your goals
  • Access other local community services that are relevant to your goals

You can choose to meet with your dedicated Allied Health professional by phone or video conference. This means that you can access the services that you need from your own home or where you feel most comfortable.

HOW MUCH DOES THIS SERVICE COST?

This service is provided at no cost to eligible job seekers that are currently registered with Sureway Employment & Training.

IS THIS SERVICE FUNDED UNDER NDIS?

If you are an NDIS participant seeking support to find and keep a job, you may be interested in our Therapeutic Supports Finding and Keeping a Job services or Disability Employment Services.
