Work Assist

Work Assist, formerly known as Job in Jeopardy, helps the employed people suffering from an illness, injury or disability be empowered to keep their job. Centrelink provides the solution for these unfortunate work interruptions. Sureway can assist you to positively get your employment back on track. 

 

By registering with the Disability Employment Service, this free service can assist you in three ways:

  • implement changes in the current job structure
  • vary your workplace so you can continue to work
  • provide specialised equipment to help you perform your job

WANT TO KNOW IF YOU ARE ELIGIBLE FOR WORK ASSIST?

Centrelink provides three eligibility requirements to determine if you qualify to this free access:

  • You have been employed for the last 13 weeks and you have averaged a minimum of 8 hours a week (not including reduced hours due to the impact of injury, disability or a health condition which puts you at risk of losing your job in the near future)
  • Currently have an illness, injury or disability which puts you at risk of losing your job (the condition doesn’t have to be permanent)
  • Have not been receiving assistance from a Disability Employment Services provider
  • You meet the following DES eligibility requirements: 
    • Be aged at least 14 years of age but have not attained Age Pension qualifying age 
    • Be an Australian resident or a Temporary Protection Visa (TPV)/Safe Haven Enterprise Visa (SHEV) holder. Employees who are not permanent residents but who hold a current TPV/SHEV, can access DES-Employment Support Services (ESS) Program Services. DES providers should refer to the DES Direct Registration Guidelines for further details about TPV/SHEV holders) 
    • Not be studying full time 
    • Not be receiving assistance from another employment services provider

  • help you write your resume  
  • prepare you for interview 

Choose which service is right for you

Many are looking for opportunities but are currently unemployed or enduring a health condition. Give them the chance to contribute in the community by hiring them in your business.
